Sexual Harassment in Fox News Company
An ethical issue is one of the most crucial problems that may affect the productivity of a
business organization. Common ethical issues in an organization include unethical leadership,
discrimination, and harassment (Rotundo et al, pg. 7) In this regard, this paper describes ethical
issues that have been affecting Fox News, particularly sexual harassment. Fox News has
experienced several cases of sexual harassment in the workplace. The issues of sexual harassment
have involved leaders and employees. One of the crucial sexual harassments involved Bill
O’Reilly, the chairman of the company. The sexual scandal led to negative impacts on the company
since fans and customers developed negative attitudes towards the leadership of Fox News. The
scandal involved a prolonged process in resolving. In this regard, the other related companies
(media) got an opportunity to expose Fox’s inefficiency; therefore, Fox could lose its popularity.
O’Reilly was accused of forcing a sexual affair with a woman who was an employee to the
company. According to Rotundo, pg. 7, the chairman needed the affair so that he could promote
the woman. However, the woman refused and filed a case to court, whereby O’Reilly had to pay
$32 million to settle the case.
Indeed, sexual harassment has become a problem in Fox News since O’Reilly’s sexual
scandal want the first to occur. The company has a history of sexual scandals; for example, other

sexual harassment scandals (Steel, pg. 7). In this case, Charles Payne allegedly demanded a sexual
