that are experiencing instability; hence, the citizens move in search of a better life. These
instabilities tend to take various forms, for instance, economic uncertainty, which results in a
poverty-stricken nation or political instability which puts the citizens at risk. For the longest time
now, the government of the United States has struggled to curb the menace of immigrants
seeking asylum in the country. History reveals that one of the earliest immigration problems to
have occurred involved the Chinese, and this was way back in 1882, which resulted in the
signing of the Chinese exclusion act (Issitt, and Walter). Later on, the government revised its
border laws accordingly to fit this prevalent issue, with some being in favor of the immigrants,
while others greatly disputing their entry (Issitt, and Walter). With the current situation at the
Mexican-US border, which is the most notorious case in the country, several positive and
negative thoughts have been expressed about the effect immigrants cause to the country through
their legal and illegal entry.
The continuous flow of immigrants to the country threatens the job market of the United
