In her article, Melinda Gates argues that most women across the world are doing unpaid
work. This happens in not only developing countries but also in developing countries. Women
spend more hours than men doing unpaid work, which includes cleaning the house, dishes,
cooking, serving, folding laundry, and others. Melinda argues that if the unpaid hours that the
women engage in unpaid work compensated, it would contribute to economic development. In
developing countries, women even perform more strenuous jobs, which society perceives it is
