Project Proposal
1. Abstract
Enrolment of students to universities in the USA has been steadily rising. While the
increase is seen by university management as a growth in the popularity of their institutions,
accommodation challenges arise as the student enrolment increases. Students should be
encouraged to share rooms to overcome the challenge of the expected rise in accommodation
costs. Proposals are made to the University of Texas, Arlington, senior management toward the
alleviation of the imminent accommodation difficulties that students are likely to face in the
pursuit of higher education. While the possibility of finding a long-lasting solution to the
problem is minimal, the senior university management is encouraged to consider to a build
mobile phone app that links students directly with each other and share information about the
availability of accommodation.
2. University background
The University of Texas, Arlington, is a well-established, chartered institution of higher
learning, standing out as a statewide icon in academic research. The institution is a subsidiary of
the University of Texas, having been adopted in 1965 (UTA, 2019). The University’s student
enrolment has been growing steadily. The student enrolment grew by 2.36 percent in the Spring
of 2019, while the overall growth in the past five years is estimated to be at 28 percent (UTA,
2019). The growing number of students signifies an increase in the popularity of the University.
However, the future economic conditions in Arlington are likely to impact negatively on the
students' morale. The University should maintain its popularity by showing great concern toward
students’ welfare by coming up with mechanisms of hedging students against the risk of a higher
cost of accommodation in the near future.

3. Discussion of Business Problems
The cost of university education has been continuously increasing, and soon, parents may
be forced to part with large sums of money to educate their children. Also, students are likely to
undergo stressful situations when looking for rooms to accommodate them while in the session.
