and cities around the world. The company is an online marketplace for arranging or offering
lodging, primarily homestays, or tourism experiences. The company does not own any of the real
estate listings, nor does it host events; it acts as a broker, receiving commissions from each
booking. Capo BnB takes 3% commission of every booking from hosts and between 6% and
12% from guests. Capo BnB is currently managing properties in three regions: North America,
Europe, and the Orient. The company provides support in over 32 different languages. Fiscal
year stays are expected to top over four million. Rental prices vary greatly depending upon the
type of accommodation, length of stay, condition of property and location
This is a report of the performance of Capo BnB prepared by a team of four: Tim Short from IT,
John Debit staff accountant (North American Operations), Suzie Reynolds staff accountant
(European Operations) and Xin Lin staff accountant (Orient Operations). The team extracted
data from the company’s databases and placed that data into Excel spreadsheets and used the
data to perform a performance analysis of the company across its wide spectrum of company
activities. The team selected data relevant to the decision-making process, eliminated any errors
in such data, and formatted it to enable mathematical calculation s.
The team developed a number of questions to guide its operations. Such questions sought to help
compute, summarize and present the company’s gross revenue. The team sought answers for the
following questions:

The team prepared the report addressing all these questions. Extracted data was placed in three
spreadsheets, one for each region. The worksheet contained a number of headings including id,
city, region, latitude, longitude, room type, price, and revenue. Data analysis was conducted and
data patens presented in tables, pie charts, as well as bar graphs. These figures present numbers

The company relies on the Orient region for most of its revenue generation, which is a limiting
factor for higher profitability. It needs to focus on improving revenue generation in other regions
but not to completely ignore the Orient region. Overall, the company needs to widen its revenue
base in all its regions and most particular in North America and Europe.
The orient region majorly relies on Tokyo city for revenue generation. It needs to find ways to
extract more revenue from other cities. It should focus on its worst-performing cities like
Singapore and widen its revenue base there, for instance, by establishing more shared room
accommodation ventures in Singapore, as well as Beijing.
The company needs to widen its revenue base in North America by venturing in accommodation
in the form of shared rooms. Only one city, Chicago generated revenue from shared rooms. The
other cities generated zero percent with only Ashville generating 2%. This indicates that the
other cities have not ventured into this service, which could be a huge revenue generator for the
company.
The Europe region is the worst-performing region. The reason for this is that there is only one

The company relies on the Orient region for most of its revenue generation, which is a limiting
factor for higher profitability. It needs to focus on improving revenue generation in other regions
but not to completely ignore the Orient region. Overall, the company needs to widen its revenue
base in all its regions and most particular in North America and Europe.
The orient region majorly relies on Tokyo city for revenue generation. It needs to find ways to
extract more revenue from other cities. It should focus on its worst-performing cities like
Singapore and widen its revenue base there, for instance, by establishing more shared room
accommodation ventures in Singapore, as well as Beijing.
The company needs to widen its revenue base in North America by venturing in accommodation
