1 overview
Technological advancements produce structural shifts in firm strategies and change
business paradigms, Artificial intelligence (AI) is breaking new ground in delivering value to
users. Through AI, scientists intend to teach machines to think and make decisions the way
humans do. And many companies all over the world start to develop AI technology to reach the
vision and mission fast and high quality.
1.1 Trends of AI
AI has become an examination subject as significant as information representation and
learning. The concern and high respect that analysts have for AI have appeared from many
points of view. The main way is identified with the need to treat spread information in
applications that are geologically scattered, for example, Machine learning and Facial
recognition. Machine learning which also called deep learning and its an AI application that
allows the computer system to automatically improve its functionality by having knowledge
from experience and then using the same to process difficult calculations and functions.
Machines will no longer require to be programmed separately for each function. For facial
recognition used to be the prerequisite of an individual’s entry into an otherwise restricted
area, Its works by identifying a human image with the help of digitally formed patterns, for
example the password in iPhone x require the face recognition to open the phone.
1.2 Definition and Example of AI
The definition of artificial intelligence has been changed more than one time. The
researcher joins to find the definition that will talk about the combination of robotics, neural
networks, and programming. And they decide that AI is a simulation of human intelligence
processes by machines, especially computer systems. Artificial intelligence is a technology
that is already impacting how users interact with and are affected by the Internet. Artificial
intelligence (AI) found everywhere at home and on our phones, AI will be in every goods
and services people will buy and use. Besides, it’s way of solving business problems. And
the attention of AI rising through the years. The applications of AI include expert systems,
speech recognition and machine vision.AI can be weak or strong, one example of weak AI is
Virtual personal assistants, such as Apple's Siri, Which has the Internet a must to serving as
a powerful database. Siri seems very intelligent, as it can hold a conversation with actual
people, even giving a few jokes, but actually if some conversation not programmed to be
answered it will be given inaccurate results. And for strong AI is a system with generalized
human cognitive abilities which can presented with an unfamiliar task, and can be able to
3
find a solution without human intervention, For example, a machine might hear “good
morning” and start to associate that with the coffee maker turning on. Another example of
strong AI is , Moley Robotics has created the world's first fully-automated and intelligent
cooking robot. It learns recipes, cooks them and clears up after itself.
1.3 Global demands for AI
The global artificial intelligence (AI) in the retail market earns $720.0 million in 2018 and
is predicted that CAGR (compound annual growth rate) will reach 35.4% during 2019-2024
(AI in Retail Market ,2019 .P154) .The factors that participate in the growth of the market
include the increasing investments in AI by retail companies and expanding e-retail industry.
the AI, retailers have been able to automate their work processes, knowing consumer
behavior, and saved relevant data through the adoption of different advanced technologies,
such as machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision. The
global AI market split according to technology, industry vertical, and geography. Based on
technology, the market is divided into machine learning, natural language processing, image
processing, and speech recognition. And for industry vertical, the market is split into media
and advertising, telecom, retail, healthcare, automotive and transportation. And for the
geographical the global AI take a part across many regions such as North America, Europe,
Asia-Pacific, and LAMEA. The basic reasons of AI market fluctuations is, First, the increase
in AI investment in technologies. Second, Growth in demand for analyzing and interpreting
large amounts of data. Third, Increased customer satisfaction and increased adoption of
reliable cloud programs. Moreover, many business are apply automation material that are
integrated with AI Platform. Which can support the process of digitalization and having
better result .AI can introduce new sources of growth Thus, the need for automation and
optimization of business operations will drive the demand for AI-solutions, during the
forecast period.
1.4 Development of Tech Companies Globally
Organizations worldwide are presently undergoing an unprecedented rate of technological
change. With the fast diffusion of the latest technologies into workplaces, it should be time to
research by the role of technology within organizations. Information technology will get bigger
and will be recognized as an element of production not only influencing organizational structure,
but also becoming a big competitive issue. One example of AI technology company is APEX
which is China Internet Weekly and there is a startup and legacy players alike are investing in AI
technology. Some of the leaders include household names like: Amazon, Amazon.com is
building a lot of its business on machine Learning-based systems, The structure of Amazon.com
4
development teams, and the focus on ML to solve hard pragmatic business problems, drives
Amazon.com to develop simple-to-use and powerful ML tools and services. Also Google
develop an AI vision which offers powerful pre-trained machine learning models assign labels
to images and quickly classify them into millions of predefined categories. Detect objects and
faces, read printed and handwritten text, and build valuable metadata into your image catalog.
These AI developments increase globally in many companies because it decrease the human
resources and create more accurate analytics, and turns data collecting devices into powerful
diagnostic tools.

2.The context of Evie.ai
Evie ai is virtual personal assessment that helps people to schedule meeting , handles multiple
timezones, books meeting rooms, tracks to-dos, updates Salesforce and gives you insights and
analytics for optimization. Effortlessly, from anywhere – with a single email or chat message.
Evie ai founded by Lee Jin Hian who is worked as product Lead at Yahoo in 2010,and in 2013
he start to work in Evie ai and was supported by Singapore National Research Foundation and
Productivity & Innovation credit for developing polices and funded strategic. Jin Hian named his
virtual assistance with Evia because it simple and easy to remember ,after a time the company
renamed the startup as “Mimetic” because they see that is interesting name ,but in 2017 the
company name was back to Evia ai because the people were more aware of Evia than Mimetic .
3.Business problem
According to the case many sectors not ready to use virtual assistants like Evia ai ,so the
company will have a loss because they face issue with the number of user less than they
expected. Also Evia ai is costly because the company should distracted more money for the team
to know the difference of culture so they should do more studies and survey because knowing the
users very important to reach the customer satisfaction.
4.Problem analysis and challenges for Evia ai
Evia ai is a solution for many problems that companies face. In the companies there are different
levels of employee so the emails will be different form employee to other, there will some secret
informations that can’t reach any one as Evia is AI technology there is a chance to be hacked
,many important industries can’t take the risk and use Evia ai.
Every start up face a challenges at the beginning of its journey .Evia ai is an AI that Scheduling
people meeting which is integral part of everyday work life so people use to do it themselves.
Many sector like banks and insurance cant depend in new technology for their security. The
difference of culture is major issue for Evia ai because they in some culture will change the
purpose of Evia ai for example, many users are not concern for the time and productivity .
