Ethics in business does not only entail morality or virtue, as found in other disciplines.
More specifically, in this case, ethics in business involves “letting the buyers know” the right
information about a commodity. Several factors can be considered to be at the disposal of the seller
that he/ she is supposed to inform a buyer. There are such factors as the correct price of the
commodity, composition of ingredients used in the manufacturing process, and perhaps the side
effects of such commodes that the buyer should know prior purchasing. Anastasia (2015) indicates
that this is a social responsibility that a business must demonstrate to a customer. As such, ethical
marketing is encouraged, whereby there should be an accurate picture of marketing
communication styles and strategy. For instance, buyers should not be given misleading
advertisements, yet what is on the ground is different. On another note, the policy of the customer
should be made aware to them and maintained at all times.
Further to note, the end-users of a commodity are entitled to be aware of the what, when,
and where to find the products they need. For instance, pricing is an essential factor for customers
because it helps them identify the best modes of delivery at disposal for them (James et al. 1988).
Secondly, such knowledge helps them know the time and quality of the goods supplied to them in
the market. Generally, having prior knowledge about the commodities in need helps a buyer to
make rational and independent decisions about the kind of goods they need.
