Company profile
Jarir Marketing Company, branded as "Jarir Bookstore" or "Jarir," was established as a
small bookshop and established in 1974, Riyadh. During the 1980s, Jarir opened a second branch
in Riyadh and a subsequent one in the 1990s. The company became a Joint Stock Company in
2002, a step that made it listed in the Saudi Capital Market in 2003. Presently, Jarir owns a paidup capital of SR 1.20 Billion. The company runs its business operations in Saudi Arabia and

With its headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Jarir operates in retail (including online
sales) and wholesale divisions, under the trademark of Jarir Bookstore. The company deals in
audiovisual instruments, school and office supplies, children's toys and educational aids,
computer peripherals and software, arts and crafts materials, Arabic and English books and
publications, mobile phones and accessories maintenance of computers and electronic items,

Explain what type of virtual management characteristics will be implemented and why?
For effective virtual management, there is a need for the identification and
implementation of management skills that will not only contribute to sustainable organizational
operations but promote a high performing and motivated team. Considering the company’s plan
to go international in its operations by doing business in the USA and UK, it will be for the best
of the company’s productivity if the following three virtual team management characteristics
were implemented; strong interpersonal skills, which will be vital for obtaining and developing a
culturally competent understanding of the diverse virtual team members, and building responsive
mechanisms for addressing the concerns raised by the virtual teams (DeRosa, 2017). Secondly,

virtual management that shows flexibility should be established, for it will enable the
administration to handle multiple responsibilities with a lot of ease and fewer complications
(DeRosa, 2017). Lastly, virtual management, which exhibits the ability to take the initiative is
essential, since it will allow the virtual team management to structure their time schedules that
are in line with the responsibilities of an administrator even in the unstructured virtual
environment (DeRosa, 2017). Technologies and processes that allow the administration to
monitor, communicate, and work with the virtual team effectively will be used to implement the
above mentioned virtual team management characteristics.
