Description
This assignment consists of three (3) sections: a written project plan, a revised Gantt chart or project plan, and a project plan PowerPoint presentation. You must submit the three (3) sections as separate files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to the section of the assignment for which it is written. Additionally, you may create and / or assume all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.
While taking all business and project parameters into consideration, make quality assumptions to support the following requirements.
Section 1: Written Project Plan
You are now in the final stage of the project plan development. All previous documentation will be combined into one (1) document that will serve as the statement of work for the project. Your goal is to have the project approved by the executive team and the venture capital group. The project plan is very detailed which is appropriate to accomplish the monumental task of implementation. However, the executive team is only interested in a ten (10) minute summation. Therefore, you also must create a compelling executive summary that is supported by your detail that convinces the executive group that your solution is optimal.
1. Write an eight to ten (8-10) page executive summary in which you provide a high-level technical overview of your project where you address the following:
- Describe the scope of the project and control measures.
- Describe the goals and objectives of the project.
- Give a detailed, realistically estimated cost analysis of the entire project.
- Relate the value of the project plan solution to the competitive advantage that information technology will afford your organization.
- Provide all aspects of the information technology implementation into the project plan.
- Use at least five (5) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
- This course requires use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The format is different than other Strayer University courses. Please take a moment to review the SWS documentation for details.
- Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
- Include charts or diagrams created in MS Visio and MS Project as appendix of the Word document. Make reference of these files in the body of the Word document.
Section 2: Revised Gantt Chart / Project Plan
Use Microsoft Project or an open source alternative, such as Open Project, to:
2. Update the Gantt chart or project plan (summary and detail) template, from Project Deliverable 4: Infrastructure and Security, with all the project tasks.
Section 3: Project Plan PowerPoint Presentation
Additional to your detailed executive summary you must present your findings to the executive team and the venture capital group that, along with the executive summary, will convince the group that your solution is optimal.
3. Create a ten to fifteen (10-15) slide PowerPoint presentation in which you:
a. Illustrate the concepts from your written report in Section 1 of this assignment.
b. Create bulleted speaking notes for your presentation to the executive board in the Notes section of the PowerPoint. Note: You may create or assume any fictitious names, data, or scenarios that have not been established in this assignment for a realistic flow of communication.
c. Use a professional technically written style to graphically convey the information.
The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:
- Demonstrate an understanding of existing and emerging information technologies and strategic impact on organizational operations.
- Evaluate the issues and challenges associated with information technology integration.
- Summarize the competitive advantage that information technology affords to organizations.
- Use technology and information resources to research issues in information technology.
- Write clearly and concisely about strategic issues and practices in the information technology domain using proper writing mechanics and technical style conventions.

Information System Background
The eCommerce industry is a trendy business in the modern world despite being affected
by numerous technological challenges, such as the availability and distribution of digital devices.
Many online stores, such as Lululemon (a global online clothes store) who have eCommerce as
the pillar of their business have closed up (Elhaj & Barakeh, 1). The urgency of innovation and
continuous improvement for eCommerce and support information systems infrastructure has risen.
XYZ has analyzed it fit to upgrade the systems funded venture capital group. XYZ Ventures hopes
to extend its platform from web-based information systems to new mobile device applications.
XYZ is involved in online booking of travels for corporate, business, and recreational
purposes. Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram integration will provide access to social sites for
marketing and advertising audience purposes (Elhaj & Barakeh, 1). However, the tight emphasis
is put on security, privacy, and secure infrastructure to guard against cyber-attacks aiming to
exploit client information such as personal profiles and bank information.
Scope
The analysis performed during the planning in the first stages of plan development stated
the scope as relying on the performance of the deliverables and the attainment of the primary goal.
The main goal of the project is to incorporate an information system comprising mobile and
computer application that has the latest innovations in the eCommerce industry. The feature will
uphold client security and privacy and respect social and business ethics. The significant
deliverables that form the scope are collected in the substantive requirements document, which
outlines the mandatory characteristics of the information system. The new information system will
host a mobile application, a present technology architectural and infrastructural design, a web user
port, and a non-vulnerable security pass. Internet firewalls, ERM (enterprise risk management)

configuration, cost reports, and a prototype will test the system and future advancements to the
system (Satzinger, Jackson & Burd, 2)
Like all successful eCommerce platforms from competitors such as Topshop, the new
infrastructure and data system will accommodate comprehensive information storage extensions,
remote access capabilities, and form a relationship with internet advertisers and social sites
(Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook) for mutual benefits. One of the benefits that the new system
will bring, and is a scope guide, is market automation. The new information system will have
capabilities to automatically spot market rend from social sites and recommend marketing and
advertising items. The major scope definitions include all tasks that contribute to the success of
each deliverable from inception to close out of the project (Ambler & Lines, 3). Such scopes
controls include requirements of each item and test report scores of each task.
Project Control Measures
The project management practice, project control, and governance, and project control are
the major pillars that contribute to the success of a project. These three components uphold
accountability, enhance relationships in the team, and provide a reliable compilation of
information that promotes and assures confidence. XYZ Ventures project parameters include
adequate planning and scheduling of the tasks. Planning will provide a roadmap to follow and
enable scenario planning. For example, when developing the database schema, the plan will
provide the developer with the requirement to integrate into the schema. Such entries like booking,
payment, customer and service category (Zheng, Han & Li, 4), included in the plan, will assist in
developing user stories that will, in turn, help understand the full requirement of the information
system.

Scheduling for XYZ is set to reduce costs and minimize risks. The cost will control the
quality of the system attained if managed well. Risks management will reduce the probability of
developing a system that can crash due to vulnerabilities such as malware, Trojans. Scheduling
will also consider minor controls such as timeliness and division of work, which will favor
professionalism and quality delivery. Another control in this situation is Risk Management, which
will combine activities like assessment and identification (Moustafaev, 5). As mentioned earlier,
XYZ will utilize ERM Enterprise risk management to monitor risks. ERM is a continuous process
that is favorable when monitoring risks such as malware, worms, and Trojan, network
vulnerability, and financial data in the eCommerce information system. Each phase will have risk
assessment stages. Risks will be identified, contingency strategies developed, mitigation strategies
planned, and the system gauge to outdo the risks.
Another control is cost management and estimation; XYZ if being funded by a venture
capital group and, therefore, has to manage its resources ergonomically. The costs will control the
project by attaining the best hardware and software and sourcing out professional IT specialists.
Earned value management is the relationship between the benefits accrued by the complete phases
of the project versus the foreseen benefits of the complete project. It is therefore suggested that the
project will be declared complete, not because full benefits are being experie...
