given team or group of people. Diversity management refers to the various organizational
activities carried out with the aim of promoting the inclusivity of all employees into the structure
of the organization (Valentine & Bateman, 2011). The main objective of diversity is to ensure
that the workers unitedly work towards attaining the goals and objectives of the organization.
This essay paper aims at discussing key features in diversity management and the various ways
of managing diversity in an organization.
A diverse workforce is one that includes the various demographics of people. In essence,
a diverse workforce is one that combines the multiple similarities and differences between the
workers. It involves taking into consideration such features as the age differences, the various
cultural backgrounds, religion, gender, and physical abilities and disabilities, among others.
Diversity also can be in terms of areas of specialization and professionalism such that other
people from other fields also join hands in the workforce of an organization and unitedly work

role in the growth of the operations of an organization. For instance, with diversity, an
organization increases its productivity (Valentine & Bateman, 2011). With the differences in age
and professionalism, an organization can engage and ensure that all the employees play their
roles. Diversity also ensures that the organizations’ resources are used optimally for best results.
