WHY NATIONS FAIL
Often, the terms Nation and State are used as synonyms; however, their features are
different. A nation refers to a group of people with a strong sense of togetherness and common
realization. On the other hand, a state is mainly featured by four elements which include;
territory, population, government, and sovereignty. Elements that go to create a nation keep on
changing. Some of these elements include common race, language, territory, history, culture, and
political aspirations. A state cannot be a state in the absence of the earlier mentioned four
elements whereas none of the above-mentioned elements of a nation is an indispensable element.
