In this blog post, I wish to discuss a very common and perhaps misguided notion
that social inclusion in and of itself is beneficial to people and to society. The notion for
this post stems from an article published in the International Journal of Lifelong
Education which explores the notion that just as it is possible for social exclusion to be
damaging to people, there are also social repercussions to excessive social inclusion and
its associated ideology. This discussion revolves around engaging people to be active in
education systems, thus the ideas of inclusion and exclusion are especially pertinent.
