1.) Discuss the possible effects of applying risk assessment and risk management in policing pertaining to curtailing departmental and officer misconduct.

The negative conduct of police officers will have an adverse impact on the entire force.
Given that, it creates the need to apply risk assessment and management strategies to curtail
instances of misconduct in the police departments. The risk assessment and management will be
applied in terms of the early identification system which will look into the police officers who
display signs of having recurring issues of the manner that they conduct themselves (Worden,
Harris, & J. McLean, 2014). In the case there is a cause for concern, then there will be an
intervention. After that, the general rate of misconduct in the police force will reduce to a huge
extent. Even so, there have been assertions that the use of the early identification system as a
means of risk assessment and management will result in negative effects such as bias. That is due
to the fact there are no standards that can be used to harmonize the process of early identification
