Introduction
Electronic Health Records are meant to improve provision of services within an
organization. However, problems and inefficiencies can lead to an organization not achieving
this. The following text is analysis of a case study where such problems exists and how they can
be solved to achieve the role of EHR within an organization.
Problems Identified in the EHR
The main problem identified in the case study was the gaps relating to functionality for
oncology clinicians in providing services to their clients. Analysis by Chrystal found that
oncology build did not align with recommendations for oncology specialists. This is especially a
major problem based on the fact that the oncology patients have special needs which can be seen
through their frequent visits, length of treatment and follow ups. As stated in the case study,
diagnosis of cancer can be life changing and causes great emotional, physical and financial
stress. Secondly, oncology navigators that assist patients navigate through the journey from
