The doctrine of sovereign immunity may also be referred to as crown immunity. The
doctrine states that a sovereign or state cannot be sued by anybody or any organization for any
apparent reason. The primary assumption is that the sovereign or the state is incapable of
committing any crime, and that insulates it from any criminal or civil prosecutions. In this sense,
when the head of state makes in the course of his or her duties, it is not possible to charge him or
