  2. Add an additional slide to present the specific qualitative research approach selected for Week 1—Assignment 2.
  3. Then add an additional slide to present the general principles, tenets, traditions, and paradigmatic perspectives of the selected qualitative research approach. Include at least 4-5 bullet points to describe these aspects for your selected research approach and cite the relevant literature that supports each bullet point.

Length: 5-6 PowerPoint slides, not including title and reference slides

References: Include an additional 3 scholarly research guides or sources to the 3 prior References included in Week 1

As we move forward together please include in your next assignment exactly what your research is examining. It helps me picture your design as you develop it. I’d appreciate it! You’ve responded to all the assignment requirements. I would have liked to see a bit more discussion on each of these choices. Without information on your research ideas, these two research designs can help you uncover a great deal of rich data. What you need to focus on when developing PowerPoint slides is to use best practice. That means you use a minimum of text on the slide with a full description of the slide concepts in your speaking notes. These slides should not be treated like you are writing a paper on them. What happens is when you have too much on the slide, your audience is so busy reading they don’t hear the important things you have to say. What NCU does is include PowerPoint presentations in your assignments so you can prepare for your research defense when you are asked to present your research to your committee. What you want is your committee’s full attention on you and not your slides. Another reason for a full description in your speaking notes is it shows me you are learning. When you can provide a complete discussion on your slide concepts that represent the week’s learning, I can see how much you’ve understood from your readings and work throughout the week. For example, on slide 2 you can have your main title of grounded theory and then just put strengths and weaknesses on the slide as subtitles. The rest should be moved into your speaking notes with brief explanations of each of the concepts which you’ve provided on the actual slides. This feedback refers more to how you design your presentation than the actual content you’ve included. I’m having trouble accessing your video in week 1 assignment 2. The link you provided https://23183311.kaf.kaltura.com/media/1_4qrvf0qw doesn’t seem to be working. I don’t see the video in my media list either. Can you please contact the help desk to ensure the video is uploaded so I can access it? I’d appreciate it. I will hold off grading it until you email me and let me know you were able to upload another that is accessible. For week 2 you will evaluate two potential data collection methods for your qualitative research study. Each method used in educational research has its advantages and disadvantages. Conduct an examination for how and why each method may be best used within your proposed study. Identify if you plan to gather data from human subjects or archival/secondary data or both. After reviewing Figure 2.1 and Week 2 resources, evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of two data collection methods typically used in qualitative educational research. Summarize the benefits of both data collection methods for your specific educational problem of inquiry. Don’t forget to use a slide for telling me about your research ideas. A problem statement or research questions if you’ve already developed them would be great. If you have questions or want to discuss, let me know. Tina
