Question description

Instructional Objectives for this activity:Identify the critical need for confidentiality.

According to Siegel and Welsh (2012), the presence of gangs as a threatening force began in the 1950s and 1960s. Since then gang activity has become increasingly organized and connected to larger networks. For this week's class discussion, please complete the following:

  • Discuss the various forms of gang control used by law enforcement and community leaders today.
  • Share your suggestions on how these can be improved.

The minimum expectation for class discussions is to respond directly to each prompt and respond to at least two other posts by the end of the week. Posts to which you respond can be either by a student or the instructor.

  1. Submit one main post responding directly to the discussion prompts.
    • This should be a substantive response to the topic(s) in your own words, referencing what you have discovered in required reading and other learning activities.
    • You may use resources in addition to your textbook that support your post(s). However, cite your sources.
  2. Reply to at least two posts. These responses can be to posts made by other students or the instructor.
  3. Responses to other individuals' posts should:
    • Expand on their ideas.
    • Discuss the differences between your thoughts and theirs.
    • Explain why you agree or disagree.
For citation guidelines, please refer to the table in the APA Style section of the syllabus.
