As of today, Japan is a first-world country, with one of the biggest economic growth.
This was not the case during World War 2. As we know, Japan, under Emperor Hirohito, was
heavily involved in the World War by starting a war with her Asian neighbors before teaming up
with the NAZI movement and attacked the U.S. This move proved costly since the U.S. was a
world superpower country and so japan was heavily punished. This after war effects left Japan at
