The Battle of Bunker Hill: An Analysis
The author or narrator of the chosen source, the Battle of the Bunker Hill, is Peter
Thacher. Before analyzing the author, it is essential to have an understanding of the battle. On
the 17th day of June 1775, the British and American forces fought the Battle of Bunker Hill in
Massachusetts. The Americans lost the battle to the Americans. In the work, Peter Thacher
narrates the events that took place in the battle. Peter Oxenbridge Thacher was born in 1752 and
died in 1802. He was born and brought up in Massachusetts, where he grew to become a
Congregationalist minister. Between 1770 and 1784, Thacher served as a church minister for the
First Church in Boston. Thacher was an active supporter of the American Revolution, and he
used his position in the church to propagate his ideas and push for the agenda of the American
Revolution. His narration of the Battle of the Bunker Hill is an eye-witness account of what
happened in the struggle.
