RACIAL INEQUALITIES

Abstract
The modern world is full of inequalities and in particular, the United States of America
has had many inequalities among the different races living there. Many schools have reported
such cases of racial inequality, and this has posed a lot of challenges to both the students and the
parents. A proper understanding of the inequality in the United States schools requires
knowledge of various racial disparities in educational centers. This paper explores the various
racial inequalities in the education system and gives the relevant solutions.

America has been referred as the land of opportunity and where dreams come true.
Education is one way through which the American dream can be achieved in America, and this is
possible when racial equality in schools is fulfilled for every citizen. Many individuals in the US
highly rely on their education for finding better careers and improving their lives (Anon 2016).
The blacks, the Hispania and the Native Americans all depend on quality education for the
fulfillment of their dreams and aspirations. The American nation has become a nation that
accepts unequal schools and at the same time, the country expects the schools to create equal
outcomes for those students who are severely disadvantaged by racial prejudices both at home
and in school. The racial inequality in education takes various forms today than the forms it took
in the past centuries (Cook 2015). Despite the various reforms that have been happening in the
education system, there are still wide racial disparities in the educational access. The gap is
increasing each day because the early state educational policies were designed either explicitly or
implicitly to create racial inequalities in the education system. The present public policies have
done nothing much regarding curbing the inequalities. The situation has just maintained and in
some circumstances got worse (Education and Darling-Hammond 1998).
In America, racial disparities in the education sector have been a way of life. For
instance, the public schools are leading in racial disparities as compared to the private school.
The Government reports show that the students of color usually get more punishment as
compared to their white colleagues (Renner 2003). Again, the black students in those publics
face some unrequired challenges in accessing to the veteran teachers than white students. The
survey conducted by the education department that also included the data from every U.S.
School showed that the percentage of racial disparities in the education sector also remains high.

enjoy regardless of their color. The survey concluded that it will be very hard for the white
student to be equal to a black student. The American people still have the notion that, there is a
difference between the white people and a black student (Anon 2016).
Studies regarding racial inequalities over the years in schools have provided that 70% of the
students who are whites go to schools where they are offered a full range of science and math
classes or courses while over half of these black students are given little or no access at all for
them to study the math and science courses. If they are given this access they can only be taught
by the lower pa...
