do you invite, and why? What conversation topics will you introduce?
OR
Choose any two philosophers we’ve considered and imagine them squaring off (that is, contrast their points
of view) on either a philosophical issue or some important current event.

Philosophical Luncheon
It was a great pleasure to be chosen as the chairman organizing committee for this
semester annual departmental lecture series. The luncheon is an event that gives members of the
University community and invited guest s to listen to distinguished speakers delivers lectures on
selected topics in philosophy. It also serves as an informal platform for students to listen to
scholars in their course of study and interact with faculty. Since the first event thirteen years ago,
the event has maintained a tradition of evoking deep thinking to give clearer understanding of
philosophical topics. The desire of the organizing committee for this year’s event is to surpass
standards set by previous events.
