Minimum wage is the minimum amount of salary that a company or a manager has to pay
the workers for the work they have done within a given period. The minimum wage cannot be
decreased by a shared or and individual agreement. I am confident that introducing a minimum
wage law on the hospitality industry will meaningfully advance the income levels. However, the
government must make sure the hospitality operators implement strategies that will enable them
to improve the pay mechanisms to ensure that a minimum wage rate is met (Radiven & Lucas,
1997).
