Question description

Body of Knowledge

Using your text and at least one additional resource, respond to the following questions:

  • Is there a body of knowledge that ILI librarians should pass along to learners?  If so, should that knowledge be passed along via the lecture method or in some other way?

  • Should we turn our synchronous instruction (in person or online) entirely into self-taught active learning tutorials or use these online tools as supplements to synchronous instruction, in person or virtual?

  • How much guidance should the ILI librarian provide in synchronous and asynchronous instruction?

the book required is Grassian, E. & Kaplowitz, J. (2009). Information literacy instruction: Theory and practice (2nd ed.).  New York, NY: Neal-Schuman Publishers, Inc.
