Over the span of life, we undergo different development stages since birth.



The different stages equate to different skills set, changes.



They all contribute to the future of the child in their adulthood.



Various psychologists came up with different explanations of development
stages.



They included Jean Piaget and Erick Erickson.

Infancy to two years
physical developments


At this stage the child is mainly dependent on the parent.



Most of the child’s body weight is within the head and they develop in size.



With time the child can crawl and eventually walk.



Have learned how to undress and dress themselves with supervision.

Cognitive development


At the early stage, the child are only concerned with what they directly
interact with.



They are in a constant state of experimenting by touching things, throwing
them.



At around 9 months they develop what is called object permanence.



Past 18 months, they develop language development.

Social development


Social development refers to how the child relates within an environment.



The main development here is the creation of attachment.



How the child is treated and relates to the caregiver is a great determiner of
how they will interact socially in the future.



Attachment is very important and how it happens a great part of the child's
life.

Skills developed


No much skills are developed at infancy but they progress with time.



One they manage to learn how to walk with no support or help from objects.



They can communicate even though its with less words or pronunciations that
might not be completely understandable to the parents or caregiver.



They experience language development which allows for them to
communicate.

High majority risks


One of the dangers to the child progress is the caregiver and how they treat
the child.
