Psychoanalytic perspective – This psychology perspective focuses on the investigation of the
unconscious mind. It tries to explain that human behavior is determined or shaped by past
experiences that are left in our unconscious mind. It is based on Freud’s psychological theory,
that explains how our past experiences influence our current behavior.
Behavior perspective – This perspective of psychology views people to be controlled by their
surrounding. It involves how environmental factors affect our behavior. It has two major
processes, these are; operant conditioning where we learn from the consequences of our
behavior and classical conditioning where we learn by association. This perspective objects the
idea that people have free will.
Humanist perspective – This perspective insists on the study of whole person ( the self). This is
where human personality is studied from the individual’s subjective experience point of view. It
