A building material, is a classification of all the components or materials that are
incorporated in the building and construction process. Most building materials are naturally
occurring or are manufactured from natural materials. A good example of the commonly used
building material in the USA is Cement, which is mainly mixed with sand to form mortar which
is then used for plastering and masonry works in a building project. However, the most
commonly used type of cement in the USA is Portland cement and was not mostly used in
residential homes but in the construction of the government and the4 non-residential houses
since they were mostly regarded as permanent buildings and must be strong enough.
