Abstract
While terrorism is not only an Islamic phenomenon, it cannot be ignored that most
terrorist acts have been perpetrated in the name of Islam. Many Western analysts have identified
terrorist acts as the teachings of one of the world’s greatest religions practiced by Muslims while
preferring to view them as a perversion of a religion that essentially teaches peace, love, and
tolerance (). This paper will discuss the religious militancy and how media is used as a weapon
to destroy the enemy. This paper will also focus on the development of this phenomenon while
discussing the rise of religious militancy and terrorism throughout the world. An example of this
phenomenon will be provided using the Arab-Israeli conflict and how this terrorism utilized
mass media to enact destruction while emphasizing the importance of how religion plays
significant roles throughout the Middle East concerning political debates and the war on
terrorism.

religious notations of cultural traits take the risks of being branded as an Islamophobic of society.
Therefore, treating Islamic terrorism as being of consequences from the socio-economic and
political elements alone, would be unjust to the significance of the religious culture that this
phonomime is so deeply rooted in. For one to fully comprehend the motivations of terrorist acts
and to be able to successf...
