Cycle 6: Designing Infant and Toddler Learning Environments

REFLECTION ASSIGNMENT 6

TO REFLECT UPON WHAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU USED THE STRATEGY,
THINK ABOUT THESE QUESTIONS.
1. How did planning this curriculum change help you implement the change? Did you
implement the curriculum change exactly as planned?
Through proper planning, the action on curriculum change was well thought through a
strategic and well orchestrated order of events which can enhance the child in
developing his abilities. The curriculum change was then was then implemented as per
laid down plan. Through this the after-events on behavioral change happening to the
child was properly documented

2. What did you find difficult about implementing the curriculum change? Explain why.
The child was not fast in adjusting to the change according to the timeframe which
was expected. This resulted in slight adjustment to the initial plan to fit in to the
new changes. However the change did not affect the overall performance of the
strategic plan

3. What did you find beneficial about implementing the curriculum change? Be
specific.
According the plan, implementing the change was to assist in personal growth and
development of the child which includes making him active in group with others
and identify his interest by exposing him to the environment.

4. How did the child benefit from this curriculum change? If the child didn't benefit
from the change, explain why not.
The implementation of the plan resulted to a positive feedback from the child,
which includes; increased interaction with peers, enhance problem-solving abilities,
enhanced confidence/ self-belief and growth of personal interest to happening
around him. The show that the child is developing properly as expected.

REFLECTION ASSIGNMENT 6

5. Will you be making further changes to the curriculum to support these interests and
abilities for this child? If so, what will you do next? If not, why not?
With the initial part of the plan initiated, new changes will not be adopted
immediately so that to avoid any possible large scale disturbance of the child sense
of direction, nevertheless new changes to be adopted will depend on overall
reception of the child over a short period of time with any other adjustment based
on any further recorded observation and conclusion made
