Teenagers Hellen and Jack have been friends for a long time. They have gone through
a lot together since freshmen year.
(Jack is painting a considerable placard which lies on the floor. He wants to dangle it.
He tries once, it falls. He tries again, but he is quite fortunate this time as he manages to hang
it limply. The banner reads CONGRATULATIONS HELLEN! Hellen appears shortly on the left
side of the stage, sitting with her back facing the placard.
HELLEN: I am always a failure!
(Jack is shocked. He tries to remove the placard hurriedly.)
(She makes a u-turn only to find Jack on the floor.)
May I know what you are doing?
JACK: Um...wall painting.
HELLEN: This doesn't add up- you look like you have assassinated a person! And indeed halted
abruptly! It is quite a very fast stop!
(Jack appears to be in shock.)
HELLEN: Anyway, no matter how ridiculous this is, it cannot match how I repeatedly fail at
this life.
JACK: You don't Hellen. Plus, you will not need your license that much since I can always drive
you anywhere you will want to be taken!
HELLEN: You mean, you are going to take me even to my dates?

JACK: (Quite hurt:) Well said.
HELLEN: Sorry, I am so deplorable.
JACK: How does it matter, anyway? What if you are awful at driving?! It only doesn't count
because those things you are good at surpassing everything else.
HELLEN: (Smiles:) Thanks, Jack.
JACK: Do you know what moments like this demand…?
HELLEN: A game?!
JACK: Definitely!
(Jack runs out of the stage and comes back with his "Guess Who? " Wall game. He
quickly sets it up.
All right. But I cannot use any of the girl cards since they are just four in total!
HELLEN: Jack stop cheating.
JACK: No. All I am saying is that the number of girl cards in this game should be equal.
HELLEN: Well, then if your person is a girl. Does she have light hair?
JACK: She doesn't.
(Hellen continues to play as Jack turns to the audience.)
JACK: I am curious to know if she is aware of it… Is she aware of it? Girls are complicated that
way. No matter how hard you will try, you won't tell what they are thinking of. They are always
entirely mysterious about what they say. Let me hope that deep down, she feels me. Maybe

one day, when she will be cooking, having a bath, or something, it will just hit her, and she
will realize she loves me.
(He re-enters the game as Hellen faces the audience.)
HELLEN: I am obsessed with this guy called John. I just like him. He is really handsome. I could
like to be with someone like him. Perhaps I should ask Jack what his thoughts about this guy
are…However, I can't tell, Jack never seems to like anyone that i have ever dated.
(Hellen goes heads again to the game while Jack now faces the audience.)
JACK: I feel like I should tell her. But there is this guy called John she has been talking of called
John. She always has mixed communications! What could this guy have that I don't? So he
can dance! I can… (He stares at Hellen:) Oh my dear God, just look at her! She is such a lovely
looking creature.
HELLEN: (To Jack:) So I have given a try this new thing of not washing my hair.
JACK: Are you serious?
(Hellen playfully smacks him.)
HELLEN: Keep quiet. I am using my conditioner still since it smoothens my hair. Just feel it.
(She perks up her hair so that Jack can feel it. However, he pats it awkwardly)
Not like that. Just feel free to run your hand all over it.
JACK: Um. Fine.
(He admits. It is terrible indeed.)
HELLEN: It feels amazing, right?

JACK: Oh yeah. I meant it is so amazing.
(Suddenly, Jack puts Hellen's hair in the nose to smell it. Hellen just stances at him
like, "Um, what are you doing?"
….Uh sorry.
HELLEN: You know Jack, you should also try a conditioner. It gives one enjoyable e...
