Personal values and Servant Leadership
Leaders have to be guided by their values when making the choices of their leadership
styles and when associating with other people in society. The Rokeach values survey showed
that the top three instrumental values include honesty, independence and obedience. I also found
out that my most important terminal values are a comfortable life, family security and living a
comfortable life. The personal values guide my servant leadership style and usually show when I
make decisions. The values determine not only how I make leadership choices in official
capacities, but also how I associate with other people in my life.
