the essential elements that readers need to explore are the section of characters and their roles in
a given text. Fiction and non-fiction works differ in terms of their features. Fiction does not

involve the presentation of real characters, but non-fiction contains real-life stories. In the novel,
characters are imaginary. In the fiction analysis, this essay seeks to explore the role of Mrs.
Mallard in the Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin. For non-fiction text, this paper examines the
role of David Sedaris in his book, "A modest proposal." However, the entire paper seeks to
evaluate the limitations of Mrs. Mallard's and David Sedaris's role in their respective texts.
