  • Discuss what is meant by line and load regulation. Should they be high or low if you want a quality power supply?
  • Discuss the differences between a shunt regulator and series regulator and how each works.

Line and load regulation is to maintain the regular voltage level on output powe supply instead of changes in supply's load. For a quality power supply, they should be in a medium current supply. 

Difference 

Shunt regulator is the regulating device in parallel with the load 

Series regulator is the regulating device between source and the load
