### Question Description

I need an explanation for this Mathematics question to help me study.

1. If y varies jointly as x and z, and y = 12 when x = 9 and z = 3, find z when y = 6 and x = 15.

2. If p varies directly as q, and q = 9 when p = 15, find p when q = 33.

3. P varies inversely as h. If P = 7 when h = 0.7, determine P when h = 12. Student has agreed that all tutoring, explanations, and answers provided by the tutor will be used to help in the learning process and in accordance with Studypool's honor code & terms of service. 1

If y varies jointly as x and z
y = k*x*z
------
Solve for "k" using "y = 12 when x = 9 and z = 3"
12 = k*9*3
k = 12/27 = 4/9
----
Equation:
y = (4/9)*x*z
---------

Find z when y = 6 and x = 15.
-----
6 = (4/9)*15*z
----
6 = (20/3)z
Ans: z = 18/20 = 9/10

2

if p=20 then g= 20*10/2
if p=1 then g= 1*10/2
if p=28 then g=28*10/2
if p=40 then g=40*10/2
if p=100 then g=100*10/2

3

"P varies inversely as h" ----> P = k/h

P = k/h

7 = k/0.7

7*0.7 = k

4.9 = k

k = 4.9

-------------

P = k/h

P = 4.9/h

P = 4.9/12

P = 0.408333333 khakaan (1456)
