The American judicial system is made of both the federal and the state courts. The federal courts
are described as having limited jurisdiction, whereby it only handles cases that have been
authorized by the Constitution of the United States of America. They constitute three levels
which are the district (trial) courts, the circuit courts and finally the Supreme Court which is the
final level of appeal. In the United States of America, the three levels constitute 94, 13 and one
Supreme Court respectively. In the federal courts, there are judges whose appointments are made
by the president of the nation and later confirmed with advice and consent of the Senate. In the
case of state courts, they are formed under the federal or territorial law and are at a lower level
