In my former company, I performed several tasks as it was still young. Besides my duty
as a HR manager, it was my obligation to select vendors to design the stationery materials. The
problem was that we had prequalified a specific vendor for a long time, and at the same time, I
discovered a new vendor at a lower price. I consulted the head of procurement, who advised me
to qualify the new vendor due to cost-effectiveness. The vendor disappointed the company as he
delivered goods of low quality, which was not suitable for the company.

As mentioned above, I made a wrong decision by qualifying a vendor due to low cost and
let go of a vendor whom I was well aware of and comfortable with the quality products she
delivered for us. This decision was a disaster as the employees had to use low-quality stationeries
until the contract period of one year was over. I learned to value loyalty and to test the quality of
a new product or service. I apply my hard-learned lesson in my specialization as a human
resource manager. I take caution before I hire a new employee I have to test their abilities with a
practical exercise and I hardly consider firing employees who do their work well.

computer. Filing the payslips is easy, takes a shorter time, and the information is secure on the
computer. I would not change anything unless it is to improve our current system of filing.

a great mistake as after the head of procurement resumed work, he was angry with the decision I
made. I f I knew what I know now, I would have fists contacted the person in charge before

increased benefits that month. I had to impose a rule that all members in my department work
extra unpaid hours to foresee the accomplishment of the exercise. I learned the power of
teamwork as everybody enjoyed their benefits at the end of that month.

In the above case, I acted without the consent of my boss since I felt that he would
