Description

Part A

THINKING AS A SCIENTIST

After considering the scientific method explained in the textbook, write an essay about how it compares to the way nonscientists approach problems. Identify some problems that are solvable scientifically and some that are not. Using one or two small problems, describe the process you would go through in solving that problem using the scientific method. Discuss the significance of the scientific approach to the development and advancement of human knowledge. Your essay should be about 300 words.

Part B

DARWIN'S THEORY

. Be sure to check your Turnitin report for your post and to make corrections before the deadline to avoid lack of originality problems in your work.

Darwin was not the first to consider evolution as a process but he did come up with the first effective explanation for how it happens. Describe Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection. Explain how this theory was a major advance over prior ideas as to how organisms changed over time. Give evidence in support of evolution and describe the driving forces for evolutionary change.

PART A

A scientific method of solving a problem is the use of a logical process in researching and
finding a solution to the problem. At the same time, the nonscientists approach involves the use of
the knowledge and truth that does not rely on scientific methods in finding a solution to a problem.
Science is indeed robust, and it can solve various issues faced by human beings and other living
things (Von Hippel, 2016). One of the problems that science can solve is a missing phone.
However, some of the issues that cannot be solved by science include the determination of moral
judgment to determining if someone's morals are good or bad, and science does not make an
aesthetic judgment to determine if a paint drawn is beautiful or dreadful.
The problem chosen to be solved by a scientific method is the missing phone. When
addressing the issue scientifically, there is a need to follow various steps. The first step is problem
identification, which in the case is the lost phone. The data include going to visit a classmate with
a friend you return; you realize the phone is missing. The first hypothesis will involve leaving the
phone at classmate’s home while the second hypothesis is the friend having the phone. The third
hypothesis is misplacing the phone in your house. The experiments include searching the phone at
your home and visiting the classmates home to enquire if he had seen the phone. The last analysis
includes asking the friend he saw your phone. Therefore, the conclusion is that the phone was lost,
but you found your friend had picked it for you.
Significance of the scientific approach
Scientific approach is useful in minimizing the influence of bias while conducting
experiments. Thus, this will improve the researcher's knowledge of coming with an accurate
