Question Description

Help me study for my Mathematics class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

Final Answer

Given, f(x) = mx + b ----------- (A)
(i) f(0) = m*0 + b = 5
=> b = 5 --------------- (1)
(ii) f(3) = m*3 + b = 3m + 2 = - 4
=> 3m = - 1 - 2 = - 6
=> m = - 6/3 = - 2 ------------ (2)
Hence, f(x) = - x + 2
