Update on the Status
Ladies and gentlemen of the press and the great citizens of this county I would
like to bring to your attention that at around 2300 hrs local time, we experienced an
earthquake of magnitude 3.5 whose epicenter was five miles away from response
location. At this point, I would like to confirm that such cases are unprecedented in this
location as we have never had such an event before. Important to note at this point is the
fact that beyond destroying property whose value is unknown up to now, the earthquake
also caused significant damage on NDJ company that produces medical gases electronics
and specialties. The earthquake waves caused gas leakages and several explosions in the
plant.
I want to confirm to you that up to now eight employees who were at the plant at
the time are unaccounted for. We are trying our best in conjunction with the emergency
rescue team to ensure that they are all salvaged in time. Given the local weather
conditions, these gas leakages pose a significant threat to the locals in several ways. Right
now, the winds are blowing to the west at 5-7mph meaning that those who live towards
the western part of the region are at a danger of inhaling dangerous gases.
As many of you may have realized, the is a rotten egg odour around, and many of
the employees that escaped from the facilities are complaining of burning eyes ad throats
and also look confused. The first medical unit has confirmed that three of the patients
exhibit symptoms of pulmonary oedema. We have been trying to reach responsible
agents of NDJ all but in vain due to the disruption in communication lines. Despite these

building while ensuring that they receive the best medical care.
