Health Care Delivery System
The United States is one of the wealthiest nations and with the highest gross domestic
product income. However, an analysis of its healthcare delivery system with other developed
countries shows that the country is not doing enough. Most developed countries have universal
health care whereby all citizens have a right to access quality health care. The United States
health care, on the other hand, covers only the citizens enrolled in the system. The system is
complex, which intern has affected its effectiveness. Therefore, the united states health care
delivery has failed to show coordination and efficiency in health care provision. The paper
discusses the health care delivery system in America, its key component, the regulations, and the
emerging trends.
United States Healthcare Delivery
The United States healthcare delivery has been evolving over the years. For example, the
first debate on whether the government should cater to healthcare provision was in 1854. In early
1910, a proposition by President Theodore Roosevelt for national medical care to the citizens
failed. Currently, healthcare provision is regulated by the federal government and the state
government. The federal government regulates the delivery system through the executive arm
and the DHS agency (Langer et al. 2018). Through these agencies, different medical care
programs can be found. The programs are Tricare, veteran health administration, Indian health
service, Medicare, and Medicaid. Tricare provides care for the military through the department
of defense. Veteran health services provide care for those that have retired while serving the
country. The Indian health services protect the Native American tribes. Medicare covers all
individuals enrolled in the program (Mohammed et al. 2016). Lastly, the Medicaid program
