A combustion reaction is a reaction where one of the reactants is oxygen. It is a oxidation-reduction reaction because one substance gains oxygen (oxidized) and the other gains hydrogen (reducted). Examples:
CH4+ 2O2 (arrow) CO2 + 2H2O
C6H12O6+ 6 O2 (arrow) 6 CO2 + 6 H2O
