Leaders as Change Agents In this assignment, you will study the factors involved in making leaders change agents. For the assignment, you will put well-known personalities and yourself under the microscope to learn what makes you and the individuals you select not only leaders but also what it takes for leaders to be change agents. Using the South University Online Library, the Internet, and periodicals such as Fortune, Business Week, and Forbes, research about the biographies, case studies, and articles of leaders. Choose any two leaders who you consider to have been very successful change agents and two who you believe have been unsuccessful change agents. Write a brief biography of each of the leaders you selected. In addition, answer the following questions regarding your chosen leaders: What were the leaders' bases of power? How was it gained? What was their reach or influence? How did the leaders find themselves in the position to serve as change agents? Describe the situation, including the need for a change agent. What mode did each leader operate in? Were the leaders successful change agents? What made the leaders successful or unsuccessful change agents? Biography:
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born in
the Madiba clan in the Mvezo village. His
father Nkosi Mandela was a principle
counselor to the acting king of Thembu
people. At the age of twelve his father
happened to pass away and Mandela
became a ward of Jongintaba. In the year
194 he worked as a mine security officer.
Meanwhile he began his studies at
Witwaters and university for his bachelors
but later left the university without
graduating due to his imprisonment. Later
on he continued with his studies and
graduated. His life in politics began
around the year 1943 when he helped to
form the ANC youth league. In 1944 he
married Evelyn Mase who bore him two
sons and two daughters but later the
divorced in 1958.Later on Mandela
struggled as he spent majority of his life in
prison fighting for peace. N 1993 e won
the Nobel peace prize. In 1994 he was
inaugurated as South Africa’s first
democratic elected president. He was
devoted to democracy and equality as well
as learning to all. Moreover he
discouraged racism among his people. He
died in Johannesburg in 2013.
Biography:
Martin born as Martin Luther King in the year
1929 was from a family of pastors of the
Ebenezer Baptists Church in Atlanta. His
grandfather had begun the family’s tenure as
pastors of the church in 1914 and served up to
the year 1931. He was later on succeeded by
the father. In 1960 after the death of his father
Martin took on the role as a co-pastor in the

public schools in Georgia that led h...
