It is clear that every country has different ways of dealing with work ethics and this can
be cited as one of the integral themes of the movie Gung-Ho. Indeed; it is evident that there are
more than a few differences which defines how the Japanese and the Americans in the movie
differ in terms of high and low context styles (Meyer, 2014). For instance; while the Americans
follow low contest culture; the Japanese on the other side follow high context of culture as
depicted in this movie. Secondly; another defining element that can define how Japanese and the
Americans in the movie differ in terms of high and low context styles is the fact that while the
Americans perceive silence as an awkward as well as believe in emotional expression; the
Japanese on the other side prefer to remain silent in many cases (Meyer, 2014).
