Scope
This document covers only the following incidents: Power failure, internet service provider
failure, fire incidents, burst water pipes, VoIP failure and virus attack on Wellness Technology
Company’s systems.
Power Failure
Preparation
The company will have to create a power bank for backup. The power bank will be connected to
Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) so that it can supply steady power to crucial machines in the
company such as servers, personal computers used for crucial services and alarm systems.
The UPS should be capable of running the company devices for about an hour. A UPS must run
for that long by assuming the worst-case scenario. This period will take care of unnecessary
delays that may be caused by humans.
A backup generator has to be installed with the capability of supplying the whole company with
enough power. The generator should be able to kick in in case of power failure from the main
supply. It is important to note that the main supply failure can take long to be repaired. For that
reason, the generator should have sufficient fuel tan to hold fuel for days. It is a good idea to
have fuel reserves just in case things get worse (Holland et al., 2016).
At least one generator operator should be within the company to ensure the generator has
sufficient fuel. Also, the company should have hotline numbers for Power Company to ensure
easy communication in case the main supply fails.

In summary, the UPS should kick instantly in case of power failure to ensure servers and other
devices are running without interruption and the generator should take over as the main supply is
been repaired.
Identification
Smart devices will play a vital role in the detection of power failures. Smart devices will be
installed in the main supply box and it will be reporting power failures in the main supply. The
generator will be programmed so that it can be able to report its failures and other status
information such as fuel level (Holland et al., 2016). UPS will have to report the amount of
power contained in the power bank and any failures. Servers will have at least two power
supplies and protocols such as SMNP will be used to report on any failures....
