Background Information
As described in previous workshops, consulting others for constructive feedback is an integral aspect of the social work profession. You are encouraged to exchange feedback with your classmates as openly as possible. Remember to consider areas in which you and others have strengths as well as opportunities for growth.
Instructions
- Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
- Review and consider the application of the NASW Code of Ethics to social work practice, particularly in regards to professional competence.
- Reflect on your responses to your self-assessment from Assignment 8.2.
- Make an initial post by the fourth day of the workshop, responding to the following prompts.
- What are your personal strengths in working with families and groups?
- What are your personal limitations, deficits, needs, and opportunities for growth in working with families and groups?
- Identify any plans you have to build on your skills and abilities.
- Identify your current interests in working with families and groups. Include any social work roles you will pursue and how family or group work might be a responsibility of those professional roles.
