Ethics and leadership
Primary influences (childhood and adult)

In all professions across the world, all practitioners must exhibit high levels o ethics and
leadership for them to effectively and efficiently manage and perform their responsibilities. The
professionalism and ethical practices that people show, usually have accumulated in them from
their childhood to adulthood influences on their characters. Ethics refers to a set of moral principles
that guide human behavior. It provides the guideline that directs how people behave towards each
other in efforts to understand and fulfill their obligation to society and hence live a conflict-free
life. In the childhood phase of life, various influences impact how we interact with other people in
the community and therefore pivoting our ethical practices.
The primary influence of a child's morals and ethics is the family influence. This is done
through the punishment that the child experiences once they are wrong and also the direct and
indirect teachings that a child gets in the family setting. Another way that the family impacts the
child's ethics is through the morals that the family setting instills in them, including the beliefs that
the family has. The belief system of a family is guided by the cultural beliefs within which the
family is founded. The family influence ensures that the children learn on matters of fairness,
justice, social roles, and social balance. The aspect of the parents being a primary influencer of the
child's moral grounds is proved by a new study that was conducted in Chicago, which suggests
that parent's sensitivity to other peoples is feeling and injustice influences the early moral
development of their children (Suttie, 2015).
As a person grows to become an adult, one usually has experienced may scenarios that
impact and shape their behaviors and their ethical and moral lining. The primary factor that shapes
individual ethics is the life experiences that one encounters. The life experiences one usually has
experienced up to adulthood, directly and consciously affects how we behave and treat others and
