Description

What are some ways that the frequencies of various alleles in North America have changed over the last 10,000 years? What about the last 500 years and 100 years? Which of the evolutionary forces is primarily responsible for these changes in gene frequencies? How do you think the genetic makeup of the U.S. population will change in the future? What trends might be responsible for those changes?

Gene frequency, in most cases, remains unchanged from one generation to another,
considering there are no disturbing factors that are present (Sober, 2018). Among the main issues
that are responsible for affecting the natural equilibrium of gene and its frequency are migration,
mutation and random genetic drift. However, over a relatively long time, say 10,000 years, gene
frequency might have occurred in a given population, and it may be an increase of decrease of
the allele frequency in a community. For that reason, the allele frequency population within the
North American region has increased and also changed in some of the popular features as a result
of the exposure to genetic drift. Concerning 500 and 100 years in relation to the effects on the
gene, allele frequency has been affected by some changes, including mutation and occurrence of
natural selection. Within the 500 and 100 years period, there has been a movement of genes in
different parts as a result of the exploratory nature of organisms within this period. Within this
time, there have been numerous revolutions that have resulted in the elimination of the relatively
weak alleles thus resulting in the survival of the genes that are relatively favourable to withstand
the changes that have been experienced over the recent past (White, Snook & Eyres, 2018).
Genetic drift is one of the forces that has had the primary responsibility of bringing about
the changes that have been experienced in the allele frequency over the past years (Qasim et al.,
2918). ...
