Introduction
Vaccines are weakened suspensions of lymphocytes, antibodies, or toxins issued to prevent
diseases. Dating back to the 17th century in china, Buddhist monks practiced simple vaccination
by smearing cowpox to torn skin to prevent smallpox (Stern & Markel, 2005). They also drank
snake venom to obtain immunity to snake bites. In the year 1796, Edward Jenner, considered as
the founder of vaccinology, administered a vaccine (cowpox) to a 13-year-old boy making him
immune to smallpox. The first smallpox vaccine was subsequently developed in the year 1798.
The vaccine aided in total global eradication of the disease in the 19th century. In the year 1885,
Louis Pastures developed a vaccine against rabies. Development of vaccines and antitoxins against
