Ashworth College Integers in The Real World Paper
You have landed your ideal job! In this worksheet you will need to answer each question fully and showing all work. Then use your findings to write your 2 page report on your findings. Research jobs using your degree and identify a job you would be interested. Use a website like Glassdoor.com to determine the salary for the job you are interested in. Then Find out what the hourly pay amount based on what is given. Be sure to cite your source in the worksheet and in your report. Write an equation to express how much money you would make if you worked h hours. Where I equals income: Would you consider your income to be a positive or a negative integer? Why? How many hours would you need to work to earn $400 per week (assume overtime is paid at the regular hourly rate)? Now let’s assume that your car is currently paid off but you have to pay gas and budget for driving to and from your new job. Find out the local gas price and write an equation to describe the price of gas for g gallons. Where M is the amount of money you spend on gas each week. Estimate the mileage to your new job each week and explain what the weekly gas cost would be for your budget. Would the gas cost be considered a positive or a negative integer? Why? Write an expression that calculates your weekly balance in your account based on a 40 hour work week and accounting for the gas amount. Show integers as positive or negative. Now determine your monthly gas cost for your trip to work. To do this assume there are 4 weeks in a month, and be sure to use positive or negative integers as needed. Show all work! Identify other expenses that you may have such as rent, utilities, etc. Estimate amounts for these and complete a monthly budget showing your balance at the end of the month with all income and expenses accounted for. Use the information you found in items 1-9 to write up your report. Start your report with an introductory paragraph on positive and negative integers. Be sure to explain why it is important to identify numbers as positive or negative when working with a budget. Then in the body of your report explain your findings in 1-9. Last in a conclusion paragraph explain what this exercise has taught you about your finances after graduation and how integers are used in everyday life.

Walden University Using Statistical Process Control
For this Assignment, you will be tasked with creating a presentation for a group of business leaders to explain statistical process control (SPC) and to identify some examples of the use of SPC to promote sound business decisions. You work as a business analyst within the IT Department of XYZ Corporation and have just been put on assignment as a consultant to a health care organization. In this organization, there is a clinical “Nurse Helpline” call center, which has a staff of several experienced nurses and nurse practitioners to answer telephone calls from outpatients who have concerns about their health or the treatment or medications they are receiving from the hospital. One of the leading metrics in this call center is hold times. They have a standard that any call placed on hold is not in hold status for more than 2 minutes before an interaction with a nurse. Every day, each clinic records the number of calls and the number of calls on hold answered in less than 2 minutes. The management team has concerns about the number of calls that have hold times greater than 2 minutes. They want to employ a more formal quality control process that would allow them to get ahead of the problem, which is why you have been consulted.During your initial interactions with the hospital and management team, you talk informally about the use of statistical process control (SPC). You soon realize, however, that some members of the management team may not have a true understanding of how SPC would work in their organization. One member in particular asks a surprising question that makes you wonder if part of the management team is missing even a basic understanding of SPC. So, you decide to create a presentation that explains what statistical process control is and provide the management team with some examples of how SPC can be used in a business context to promote sound decision making. To support the information that you provide in your presentation, be sure to reference a minimum of four properly formatted, scholarly sources. To prepare for this Assignment:Review this week’s Learning Resources.Refer to the Academic Writing Expectations for 2000/3000-Level Courses as you compose your Assignment.By Day 7Submit your presentation based on the following prompts.Part 1: Explaining Statistical Process Control (8–10 slides, with speaker’s notes)Define statistical process control (SPC) and briefly describe the history of SPC, focusing on its origins. (2 slides)Provide an example of a control chart (either one you create or one you locate on the web) and label the parts of the chart. (1 slide)Describe the derivation of the center line and control limits on a control chart and the meaning of each. (1–2 slides)Explain the two types of process variation—common cause and special cause. (2 slides)Describe at least two signals of special cause variation that might be detected in a control chart. (2–3 slides)Part 2: Applications of SPC in Business Decision Making (5–8 slides, with speaker’s notes)Identify at least two examples of the application of SPC in a business context. Select examples from multiple industries (e.g., manufacturing, health care, and service). For each example, describe how SPC was used to improve process, achieve better outcomes, and support sound decision making. (2–4 slides)For each type of process variation, describe the implications for management action. (2 slides) In conclusion, provide three potential benefits of SPC to the health care organization. Specifically, how might SPC help the company make sound decisions to the end of achieving its goals? Also, what, if any, drawbacks do you see to using SPC? Identify two possible risks of the use of SPC that the organization should be aware of. (1–2 slides)Note: Your presentation should adhere to the template provided. It should consist of 13–18 slides, not including the title slide and References slide that includes properly formatted citations for a minimum of four scholarly sources to support the information you presented. You should also include detailed speaker notes, to be used as a script for delivering the presentation. Use the Week 6 Assignment Template, provided in this week’s Learning Resources, to complete this Assignment.
