Today, all criminal cases require the participation of various personnel including judges
and prosecutors. As such, the absence of one of the parties involved in the process results in an
incomplete criminal justice system. The prosecutor plays a critical role in the criminal justice
system before, during and after a trial. On the other hand, judges have ad duty to interpret and
uphold the law in accordance with the statutes provided by the parliament. Additionally, judges
are expected to adhere to common law principles such as fairness and reasonableness while
