On March 3, 2020, Forbes magazine released a story under the headline, “Battling
Debt and Technology Shifts: Behind The Scenes With CEO Alain Bellemare Of The
Bombardier Transportation Sale.” This headline captured my attention because after Alain
Bellemare was entrusted with the leadership position of CEO at Bombardier Inc. in 2015, he
expressed absolute confidence that in five years, he would turn the Montreal-based
organization around. He knew very well that the debt load of Bombardier was a nightmare
and needed to be tackled, but he had not imagined it would have turned to be a vigorous
process.
